Preface
The ECOC is the meeting place for professionals from the fibre optics sector. It is the central location for learning about the latest innovations and challenges. The fair furthermore is the location where professionals can learn about new solutions. ECOC is Europe’s most extensive optical communications trade exhibition. Each edition takes place in a different European city. The hosting cities include metropolises such as Bordeaux, Brussels, and Dublin. The ECOC Exhibition is an event with a high level of attendance. For example, one edition received 253 exhibiting companies and 7,243 attendees. The visiting nations include China, the UK, the United States, and India.
About the ECOC Exhibition
ECOC is an international exhibition that can help professionals in achieving several goals. One of them is exchanging information and expanding their specialist knowledge. The event can aid in completing such business goals via its comprehensive event agenda.
Among the main features of the schedule is the extensive exhibition, where both start-ups and leading companies showcase their novel solutions. These include optic fibres, integrated circuits, components, and others.
Another central feature of the ECOC exhibition’s support programme is the Market Focus zone. It is where attendees can learn about photonics integrations and fibre access. The Market Focus features lectures where leading organisations present the latest information. The Market Focus speakers include Scott Schube, Peter Finn, and Lorenzo Ghioni.
The Innovation Awards are also among the main features of the ECOC’s support programme. They laud accomplishments related to optical communications, networks, and integrated circuits with photonics. The Awards include six categories: Best Fibre/Fibre Component Product, Best Data Centre Innovation Product, Innovative FTTX Product, Most Innovative Product, Optical Integration, and Optical Transport.
The Best Fibre honours technology, process, or product innovations that improve fibre or fibre component qualities. The Data Centre Innovation acknowledges novelties that augment one or more aspects of data centres. The Innovative FTTX Product honours solutions that increase management scalability and bandwidth capacity. The Most Innovative Product award is for products that drive market segment changes. Optical Integration acknowledges innovative technologies that improve capability while lowering power consumption and costs. The Optical Transport Award lauds design that promotes longer reach and others. The Innovations Award Ceremony coincides with the Optical Connections events.

Past Iterations
ECOC 2022
ECOC 2022 occurred between the 19th and 21st of September 2022 in Basel, with the venue not incorporating coronavirus safeguards due to the country removing its pandemic restrictions. The edition featured over 6 200 visitants, more than 50 lecturers and 290 exhibiting firms.
ECOC 2023
ECOC 2023 took place between the 2nd and 4th of October 2023 in Glasgow. Like the 2022 iteration, the format did not feature coronavirus precautions. ECOC 2023 featured 330 exhibitants from more than 90 nations and resulted in USD 4 760 000 in export contracts.
ECOC 2024
ECOC 2024 in Frankfurt was a live trade exposition between the 23rd and 25th of September in Messe Frankfurt. ECOC 2024 featured more than 7 800 visitants and over 330 exhibiting firms from more than 30 nations.
ECOC 2025
ECOC 2025 in Copenhagen was a live trade expo between the 29th of September and the 1st of October. It featured more than 340 exhibiting firms and over 8 300 visitants.

Many thanks for handling the reservation of the hotel so professionally. Its interesting to note that when Interschutz 2021 was cancelled the hotel, and yourselves, did not hesitate to carry the booking over to 2022 at the same cost. The hotel, although a little out of Hannover (this was as per choice) was excellent. The food was excellent and the rooms larger than normal, and well appointed. My stay was greatly enjoyed.
