Munich is one of the most time-honoured and significant segments of the German architecture industry. This is due to the city’s architecture, which spans centuries. Thus, representatives of many architectural styles can be found in the city. These include Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Romanesque, Rococo, Neoclassical and Neo-Gothic. There are also many representatives of postmodern architecture in the city. This is due to the high focus on modernisation and sustainability. This allows for the development of high-quality projects. Examples include various venues, such as the Munich Olympic Park and BMW Welt. They also include cultural buildings such as the Brandhorst Museum. Additionally, the city undertakes many restorative projects to maintain its diverse architectural heritage. As a result, this has enabled the architectural segment of Munich to expand and become of high value. For example, there are over 800 architects and architectural firms in and around the city. Among them are leading firms, often with a turnover of up to USD 16 000 000. They also include small and medium-sized enterprises and independent contractors. As a rule, the segment presents its latest products at bi-annual trade exhibitions. These events take place at various venues in the city. They attract hundreds of thousands of participants from diversified countries.
