Why is the sector notable?
It is due to the city’s time-honoured links with industry and its development. Likewise, it is due to the city and the country’s commitment to improving industry. It includes the creation of various start-up accelerator programmes. These are designed to help these companies win contracts. Various leading national executive centres develop long-term research programmes. This results in Paris having one of the most extensive European aerospace clusters. It also includes more than 2,000 company sites. Among them are outstanding companies in the Fortune 500. As a result, the regional aerospace and airport sectors employ approximately 105,000 and around 130,000 professionals, respectively.
