These include meat, dairy, beverages, chocolate, coffee, baked goods, ready meals, health foods, grains, fruit, and vegetables. This results in the production of high annual turnovers that, in turn, aid the French F&B industry. For example, in recent years, the region and city have produced revenues of up to 9 400 000 000 EUR. In addition, the urban centre and cluster are among the industry's central and leading innovation hubs. This is because of their chief focus on research and development as a means to adapt to the latest demands and challenges. Often, they display their latest innovations during biannual trade expos in Lyon. Such events attract hundreds of thousands of attendees.
