ABOUT THE VENUE

One of Shanghai and China's leading venues is the National Exhibition and Convention Centre. It is a 1.47 million m2 four-leaf-clover-shaped event complex. It comprises a central plaza (the NECC or Commercial Plaza) and eight 5-storey diamond-shaped commercial buildings. The diamond-shaped buildings are arranged in pairs and form the clover's leaves. They comprise 16 exhibition halls and three official buildings. The 16 halls consist of 13 with 28,800 m2 each and three with 10,000 m2 of space each. Halls 1 to 3 are single-floor and column-less, while halls 4 to 8 are double-deck. The halls provide 500,000 m2 of event space, with 400,000 m2 indoors. The office buildings present 180,000 m2 of space and feature six 500 m2 conference halls and six 500 m2 hanging gardens. The Plaza has 150,000 m2 of space and comprises a 7-storey commercial building. Catering, shopping, entertainment and 4,000 parking spaces are available at the venue.
