Nieder-Ofleiden

Nieder-Ofleiden is a compact municipality located around 15 kilometres from Marburg and one of the 14 districts of Homberg. It has a total event space of 5.49 m2 with an extensive history dating to 1264. It is a popular location for hosting trade fairs that focus on quarrying and mining. This is due to its extensive history related to the industry, including the presence of Europe's largest basalt mine. This results in over 50,000 participants attending the location per year. The municipality became one of Homberg's districts in 1971.
