ABOUT THE VENUE
Mayflower Park is a historical and popular riverside park in Southampton. It is on the banks of the River Test and was constructed in the 1930s by reclaiming the surrounding mud flatlands. It was known as the Royal Recreation Ground until 1955. During this time, the location was refurbished and renamed after the historical vessel Mayflower. The waterfront park is a popular location for the naming and christening of ships. It also serves as the venue for boat shows, such as the popular Southampton Boat Show.
