The Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BBI) is the primary airport servicing Berlin and the Brandenburg State. It is also one of Europe's most active airports. This is due to its annual turnover of 34 million passengers. It has a total space of 1,470 hectares and replaces three previous international aerodromes. These are the Tempelhof, Schoenfield, and Tegel airports. The BBI is also a leading event venue, which hosts over 70,000 participants during various fairs.
