The 7 Reasons You Don’t Want to Miss out on IFAT

12 May 2022

IFAT has been at the head of the larger environmental movement. The international trade fair has always been a launch pad for new environmental technologies, and in recent years it shows all the progress made in the field of water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. It’s currently the major meeting place for politicians, business owners and policy makers on how Germany can meet the requirements of the Green New Deal.

The trade fair maintains incredible attendance numbers with over 3300 exhibitors and 142,000 trade visitors. They travel from near and far, and so far IFAT has successfully transplanted to China, India, Eurasia and Africa. Together they create a strong network of international events that are committed to the fight against climate change as hard as it currently is.

First and foremost, we have to talk about the product portfolio. IFAT covers the entire value chain for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. This means you’ll see everything from small parts and equipment to large systems and equipment – air purification, soil treatment, industrial waste management, power generation, pump control valves, industrial dust control technology, storm water collection technology and water supply engineering.

The quality of exhibitors is also incredibly high. Endress+Hauser, Grundfos, KSB, Sulzer, Xylem Europe, Gea Westfalia Seperator Group, Kaeser Kompressoren, EnviroChemie, Otto Graf, Aerzener Maschinenfabrik, Veolia Water Technologies, AVK Armaturen, Hawle Armaturen, Talis and Siemens are only some of the high profile companies that choose IFAT every two years to present their solutions in the modern halls of Messe München.

The great thing is that as an exhibitor you get ample opportunity to showcase your machinery in action and in as close-to-real conditions as possible. The live demonstration areas attract hundreds and hundreds of spectators, who want to see not just the latest in machinery showcased but also the abilities of skilled workers. Here are some of the hotly anticipated events - Live Demonstration car recycling, End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling, Water Skills — Professional Competitions, Pipe Fitting Challenge, Biomass Processing Technology, VDMA Crushing Zone and Truck in Action.

IFAT doesn’t just talk the talk, but puts what’s been discussed to practice. Organisers have pledged to ensure a greener future and invite all other exhibitors to do the same. The GoGreen CO₂ Audit gives you actionable advice on how to achieve sustainability and climate protection while you’re at IFAT. The audit is achieved thanks to the collaboration with myclimate and highlights areas of improvement for exhibitors in how they set up and run their booths during the live section of the trade fair.

One way for exhibitors to get discovered as an exhibitor is to be included into one of the solutions guided tours, which regularly take place at IFAT. Each tour consists of up to 5 booths and serves a group of 25 people in total. Tours aren’t restricted to a specific product group, but are curated in different themes and topics. Examples include “Future of water—access and quality”, “Sustainable cities and municipalities” and “Intelligent drives and zero emissions”. You will have ample time to showcase your unique value proposition face to face, but the tours also enable the use of special tools like VR headsets.

IFAT consistently upgrades its programme offerings and in 2020 this meant the first edition of the IFAT impact Business Summit. The summit’s purpose is to drive business through the exchange of knowledge and expertise, but also B2B matchmaking. The IFAT impact Business Summit made a strong debut with 2100 overall participants, 1554 exhibitor offers, 20 live conference sessions and 70 speakers in total. A true success. Whether you want to sit through product presentations or check out the start-up stage, the summit has something for everybody.
