HOURUNIVERSE 2021 has been pushed back to the summer due to the coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions across the world. The first ever edition was initially scheduled for April 8th – April 12th, but those dates were no longer feasible. That’s why MCH Group AG is waiting for the perfect moment in the summer to bring the show together. The international trade fair will be held at Basel Exhibition Centre as Baselworld was before and the exhibition grounds will follow strict COVID-19 protective measures to ensure the health and safety of all in attendance. The 2021 edition of HOURUNIVERSE will also be a hybrid event with a powerful digital platform available year round.
HOURUNIVERSE comes as the direct replacement of Baselworld, which at this point was one of the biggest and most influential trade fairs for watchmaking, jewels and gemstones. This new fair takes the successes of Baselworld and updates them with an even richer product portfolio and a new professional focus. HOURUNIVERSE is the future of trade events as it’s the first trade fair to embrace a truly hybrid format. In addition to a live event held in Basel Switzerland at Messe Basel every year, HOURUNIVERSE will also give brands and buyers access to a digital offer that will be active 365 days of the year. The impact of this on professional conversations and sales generation is going to be tremendous.
HOURUNIVERSE builds on top of the traditional product portfolio in interesting ways. Yes, there will be jewellery collections, pearls and gemstones, silverware, timepieces and special occasion gifts. There are no lists of exhibitors just yet as the trade fair is building towards its debut, but it’s expected to see previous exhibitors such as Patek Phillipe, LVMH, TAG Heuer, Rolex, Chopard and Messika to showcase at this new event.
